Accident causes motorway delays

MOTORISTS suffered delays on Wednesday morning after a pile-up involving three cars and a lorry closed one lane of the M61.

The crash happened at 7.50am on the M61 northbound between junction 1 and junction 2 of the motorway.

The carriageway was quickly reopened and no injuries were reported.
