Celebrity wrestling a sad spectacle

I HATED every one of the 10 minutes I spent watching "Celebrity Wrestling" on TV at the weekend.

This pits the likes of cad James Hewitt (aka Gentleman Jim, would you believe) and Big Brother's Kate Lawler etc against similar C list celebs, either belting opponents with giant plastic cotton buds or "wrestling" each other through open goals.

Presenter Jenny Powell was rolling about against towering blonde model-type Victoria Silvstedt. Not sure who won (well, I'd just had my tea and was starting to feel a bit queasy watching) but it was about as close to wholesome family entertainment as bear-baiting.

I've always liked and admired Jenny and was disappointed to see her on this. It's a demeaning programme all round, so bound to be a huge hit.
