Walshaw Cup victory

WALSHAW Under-15s came out on top in the Bolton Association Walshaw Cup final on Sunday, beating Standish by eight wickets.

Standish struggled with the accuracy of Walshaw bowlers, posting just 70 runs. Sam Callow top scored with 15, but a steady fall of wickets meant Standish were unable to generate any sort of partnership. Nick Murphy bowled well for Walshaw, with figures of 3-4.

Murphy was the star with the bat, scoring 35 before having to retire. Walshaw reached the target for victory with a loss of just two wickets.
