Detectives seek witnesses to street attack

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a man had his jaw broken in two places during a gang attack.

The 21-year-old was walking along Glynne Street, Farnworth, with a friend, also 21, when they were approached by four teenagers.

The gang - two boys and two girls - hit the man across the head and face repeatedly before he and his friend were able to run-off. They had been returning from a night out when the attack happened at around 2am last Saturday 30/6.

The man received hospital treatment for a broken jaw and other minor injuries.

Det Con Dave Harris, of Bolton CID, said: "Police are treating this as a serious incident and would be grateful if any witnesses or anyone with information would come forward."

The attackers are described as white and around 17-years-old.

Anyone with information should contact Bolton CID on 0161 856 5797 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
