TREE OF REMEMBRANCE Once again Gibson’s Funeral Directors in St Helens Road, Bolton will be displaying a “Tree of Remembrance” in their reception office during the Easter Period. From 17th to 20th March you are invited to pop into the office to hang an Easter tag on the tree in memory of your loved ones. You are also invited to make an entry in our Memorial book that is placed in our Chapel of Rest. The tree with its bare branches is symbolic of the wood from which the cross was made for the Crucifixion. An ancient custom is still carried out in many Christian churches during Lent whereby the bare branches are made into the shape of the cross at Easter. The Chapel of Rest will be open between 17th and 20th March 9.30am to 3.30pm to enable you to visit the branch. If these times are difficult for you, please telephone Tony or Jonathan on 01204655869 and they will be happy to discuss alternative times for you to visit. read more
