THE bosses of a new Bolton gym are promising a work out with a difference for fitness fans.

Fitness instructors Beki Gerrard and Anthony Heap, who have set up The Fitness Room, in Burnden Business Park, say they want to give people a different exercise experience for members.

They say that most people who join a gym eventually stop attending after two or three months, because they are intimidated by the prowess of other regular gym goers and lose interest as a result.

The pair promise to give members of the new gym, which specialises in personal and group training, achievable goals to ensure they keep going to meet their fitness targets.

Anthony said: "Lots of people want to improve their fitness, whether it's to lose weight or just to feel better about themselves.

"But the biggest problem is knowing where to start. Traditional gyms give you all the equipment, but without the proper guidance and motivation, it can be really difficult to get results.”

"We’re genuinely interested in people’s fitness, health, and well-being. Fitness is more than just lifting weights, we try to help people with their diet and all-around motivation, in a friendly and non-intimidating environment."

The gym provides one-on-one personal coaching and group exercise classes, and is offering monthly membership with no sign up fees.

Members are not obliged to sign to a long term contract, as gym bosses say they are confident that people will come back.

Non-members are also welcome and can pay for single sessions.

Beki added: "We’ve been delighted by the response of our members since opening our doors. There’s a great buzz in the group exercise classes and a really friendly atmosphere too, which is great. People really like the space that we have here."

Group exercise classes include Metafit, Insanity Live, P90X Live and Piyo Live, with all sessions designed to be challenging and fun at the same time.
