IT was double delight for a communications firm that which was honoured at a national awards ceremony.

Incom-CNS won two gongs at the National Comms Business Awards, which was hosted by Sir Lenny Henry in London.

The company, which is run by Westhoughton businessman David Hughes, defeated rivals from across the country in the Mid-Market Convergence category, for its Mitel telephony and network solution at Copeland Borough Council.

In addition, it won the Reseller of the Year for its ShoreTel contact centre solution for retail giant The Range’s superstores.

There is no charge to enter the awards, and the finalists from across the UK are nominated on merit with competition as fierce as ever this year.

With a combined history of nearly 40 years, the two companies, Incom Business Systems and Complete Network Serviceshave both built strong nationwide reputations for providing high-performance infrastructure and connectivity for their customers.

Following a merger deal 12 months ago, group directors were keen to retain the strength of both brands while creating a market leading communications business with an enhanced nationwide presence across private and public sectors.

With its head office in Manchester, the group now employs close to 100 staff and boasts a high-profile client list including Central Manchester NHS Trust, Haribo, Kelloggs, Horizon Nuclear Power and Bentley Motors.

Bosses say the dual accolade is testament to their successful union and hard work of the whole team over the last year.

A delighted Mr Hughes said: “We have been finalists in at least one category of the Comms Business Awards for each of the past ten years and we respect the integrity of the awards and understand the kudos associated with winning.
