WORK has begun on Farnell Jaguar Land Rover’s new £8m retail outlet in Bolton.

Farnell, which is owned by the UK’s sixth largest motor retailer Vertu Motors plc, is creating a state-of-the-art showroom and workshop in Higher Bridge Street, in a project expected to last almost a year.

The 5,700 sq ft scheme will create a three-storey building for the Farnell Jaguar Land Rover team who will relocate from their existing site in Farnworth. It will comprise a showroom, workshop, MOT testing area, car wash and valet bays.

The work is being carried out by Leeds-based APP Construction.

The project team also includes architect McBains Cooper, consulting structural and civil engineers Fairhurst, and employers agent Thornton-Firkin.

APP construction director John White said: “Working on luxury schemes for the Jaguar Land Rover marques is always a pleasure. We’re delighted to have secured this major scheme for Vertu Motors in Bolton.”

Group property director at Vertu Motors plc, Andy Johnson said: “We’re very pleased to be getting work underway at our new Farnell Jaguar Land Rover site in Bolton. The new location will add to our existing portfolio of dealerships within the Bolton area.”
