THE USN Bolton Arena has partnered with local company Digicomm 360 to upgrade all the telecommunications at the busy sports centre and provide ongoing support and maintenance.

The Middlebrook venue, with its full array of sports and gym facilities, not only plays host to a variety of high-profile regional and national events throughout the year but also has a million customers through its doors annually.

Halliwell-based Digicomm 360 has provided the Arena’s IT and network support for the past three years and has now been awarded the contract to install and maintain a new telephony system at the Horwich venue.

Digicomm’s managing director Mark Pollitt said: “We’re delighted to be so involved with such an important venue .

“We have taken a holistic approach to the work at the Arena which has crucially improved communications and future-proofed its technologies. This will impact positively on major events, businesses based there, staff and on the many visitors who will already notice a difference in the speed and ease of their WiFi connection.”

Digicomm has also become a sponsor of the well-known venue, helping it to raise its profile in the local community and also offer a healthy work/life balance to employees with subsidised gym membership.

Arena commercial manager Gwyn Hughes said: “We’re very pleased with our new systems especially as they have been installed by a locally-based company with a solid reputation.

“Good communication is vital here at the Arena, for staff, businesses and visitors. We know that this latest work will improve the service even further for the hundreds of customers we speak to on the phone every day. And for the companies based at the Arena, it will make this an even better place to do business.”

The Arena is currently home to 10 businesses, all benefiting from the venue’s footfall, profile and now its improved telecommunications. It also has a growing number of sponsors – Arena sponsorship increases their profile – and hosts a free networking event four times a year.

The next one is on Thursday, December 7 and runs from 3pm to 5pm. To book call 01204 488112.
