BOLTON’S successful Teenage Market will be back in town today.

The market gives young entrepreneurs, aged 13 to 25, an opportunity to showcase their business ideas.

The Teenage Market is a nationwide initiative set up by teenage brothers Joe and Tom Barratt from Stockport as a way to support local young people and transform town centres.

Bolton Council held its first teenage market in 2016 and following its success organised a further four with the brothers.

Around 30 independent entrepreneurs will be selling items ranging from homemade slime and jewellery to cakes, coffee and arts and crafts on Victoria Square, from 10am to 4pm.

Bolton FM will compere the event and visitors can also have a go at sports including football and boxing.Assistant Director of Community Services, Donna Ball, said: "The Teenage Market has been so successful in Bolton and it’s back again.“There’s plenty on offer tomorrow with everything from gloopy, gleeful slime which is incredibly popular at the moment to a children’s coffee shop.“I am delighted that we are once again giving young people a free platform to showcase their business talents and creative skills.”Co-creator of The Teenage Market, Joe Barratt, added: “We are delighted that Bolton Council is holding these markets and supporting young people.” To get involved email steven.turney@bolton.gov.uk or call 01204 336824.
