A PARTNERSHIP of public and private sector organisations has been promoting the Bolton 2030 Vision during Responsible Business Week.
The Bolton Family Has been supporting a number of events in order to raise awareness of the proposals for the town's future.
These included yesterday's Bolton Business Expo where the group held The Working Wardrobe, which aimed to provide support to eh long term unemployed members of the Bolton community.
Dave Singleton, chairman of the Bolton 2030 Vision, said: "The Bolton Family is a key group underpinning the delivery of the Bolton 2030 Vision helping to make Bolton a strong, vibrant and prosperous place to live."
The group is also supporting the creation of the Small Business Collective, which launches today at 5.30pm.
The initiative will bring together small business that want to make a social impact in the town.
The launch of the group will be held at A Small Good Thing in Church Road.
It will detail the benefits of social value to local businesses and will help to contribute to several of The Bolton Family's initiative.
It will also support the Bolton Hospice's bucket collection and bag packing sessions at Morrisons supermarket tomorrow and Friday from 10am to 4pm. Since forming in November 2014, The Bolton Family has worked on several community projects within the Bolton area in close collaboration with charity organisation, Urban Outreach.
The group’s work places particular emphasis on food poverty, homelessness, training and employment and ensures initiatives underpins the Bolton 2030 Vision.
It meets about six times a year and is chaired by Vanessa Barlow, socially responsible manager at Seddon, who said: “Responsible Business Week provides an opportunity to raise awareness of the needs within our communities as well as highlight the fabulous collaborative work that is undertaken by groups such as The Bolton Family.”
