THE appliance of science saw youngsters enjoy the fun side of an often perceived baffling classroom topic.

The free three-day ‘Science Spectacular’ was held at Market Place, Bolton, during the half-term holiday.

The event included three 30-minute shows each day, hosted by a pair of mad scientists who led the audience through a series of exciting experiments with fizzing potions, bubbling concoctions, giant smoke rings, scientific magic, and experimental sweet-making. There was also a 15-minute ‘Climate Chaos’ show with lightning, electrifying science experiments centred around the environment and interactive tornado races.

Children also participated in a science themed trail around Market Place and were able to make their own slime to take home.
