EGARDING Stuart A Chapman's letter 'Bedroom tax is not a tax' (December 15)
I would like to thank Mr Chapman for his long winded details where he explains that the Bedroom Tax is not in fact a tax. We know this already. The name Bedroom Tax is simply what the charges are being referred to as. But one thing I will say that comes up in Mr Chapman's description of what a tax is, he states that wealth creators are generally forced to pay. There are two things wrong with this statement, firstly wealth creators pay far less tax proportionately than most working people, and these so called wealth creators leave the British tax tax payer £7billion pounds short each year through tax dodging. These so called wealth creators also dodge billions of pounds in corporation taxes.
Mr Chapman goes onto state that I failed to distance myself from the likes of Marx and Engels, which is frankly bizarre since I mentioned that I am not from a hard left tradition, which of course would include Marx and Engels.
