I FEEL compelled to write about the attitude of some supporters of the Grass Roots Leave campaign.

On Saturday, I and other members of Bolton Green Party, had a stall in Victoria Square encouraging the public to vote to remain in the EU.

We handed out leaflets giving the benefits of remaining in Europe and within ten minutes we had three or four people visiting our stall who came from a stall calling themselves Grass Roots Leave campaign who we felt were aggressive in there approach.

We were pointing out the employment rights we have gained and action on climate change, that has come from EU membership.

I and other members on our stall felt intimidated. We had held stalls on two previous Saturdays without any hassle.

There are obvious benefits to EU membership which the public need to know, so they can decide in full possession of the facts. But for people who have a different view to intimidate in such a manner saddened me.
