Re: Proposed cycle track at Singing Clough, Kearsley.
Landfill site and the consequences — again the council is trying to pull the wool over our eyes regarding this site.
This particular landfill site has had many reports and much money has been spent on it, but it is easy spending other people’s money i.e. ours.
The residents and Academy have every right to be worried as regards to opening it up. But who will be accountable for this cost as other developers have bailed out.
The cost of removing this high level of contaminants in people’s health alone has been brought up many times. The last professional report advised a landfill site with this level of contamination should be allowed to settle at least 100 years, the council haa these details and things like this should not be done underhandedly as people’s health overrides anything else.
So let sleeping dogs lie and plant some trees as was suggested in the first place.
