IN his letter (Who is backing Farnworth, February 9) Paul Heslop calls on all 60 Bolton borough elected members and in particular Kearsley, Harper Green ward and Farnworth ward councillors to fight for Farnworth.
Analysis of the Harper Green ward shows that 40% of the residential properties in the ward are in Great Lever and 60% are in Farnworth. I am proud to represent people in both of these places. Great Lever and Farnworth both have substantial history and significance in Lancashire/Greater Manchester. The largest number of residents I represent live in Farnworth and the ward border is around Harper Green Road, Plodder Lane, and Marsh Lane.
I am lobbied by residents most of all at the present time to campaign to keep and improve the small amounts of green land there are in Highfield, Plodder Lane and the Harper Green Road areas. I work with all my colleagues and residents to bring about improvements.
Cllr Sue Haworth
Harper Green ward
