I DON'T believe it. Our councillors are happy that poor Farnworth's regeneration which should have been completed by Christmas 2016, doesn't have a start date yet. It's disgusting.
Farnworth lost its identity when it ceased to be a borough and became a plaything of Bolton MBC.
In his letter, Mr Bird mentioned three ward councillors, there's nine if we include Kearsley. It's becoming increasingly apparent that we citizens of Farnworth are being treated as second class by Bolton council so long as we all pay our council tax they will throw in a few crumbs.
In a recent statement, Cllr Ibrahim mentions GMPT and a bus station. It's another red herring. A bus station? What for? Plodder Lane carries a heavy load of traffic daily. How many more buses? There were more buses running up and down King Street in 1927 than now.
All the airy fairy plans for Farnworth are pie in the sky. Market Street won't be like Oxford Street, London, until we get rid of the take aways and charity shops, and we've gradely shops selling quality goods and a price we can afford.
