THIS year, Bolton Lions charity celebrates an incredible 100 years of raising money to help causes in our town, for people and projects that without Bolton Lions would be much worse off. A century of superb existence in our town is no mean achievement.

Having been approached by Bolton Lions, our World Champion Smithills musicians and singers are staging a gala concert in the Victoria Hall on the charity’s behalf on Saturday April 8th at 7.30pm, not just to raise much needed money for this fantastic, Bolton organisation, but to honour a century of charity work that they have carried out in our town.

The ‘Smithills In Hollywood!’ concert is now just days away and although we had amazingly sold over 700 tickets quite some time ago, there are still some seats still available for a concert which I know will appeal greatly to young people, cinema enthusiasts and fans of musicals alike. The atmosphere already promises to be fantastic and we hope people will dress up and have a great night out with us once again.

How many Bolton charities can boast 100 years of continuous existence? I urge, and appeal to, the kind and generous people of Bolton to come out on April 8th and experience Beauty And The Beast, Pirates of The Caribbean, Mary Poppins, Star Wars, Jurassic Park, Phantom of The Opera, Wicked and a very special performance by Eagley Band, all in aid of the wonderful Bolton Lions. I believe it will be a very special night.
