IN the unwinnable argument about whether or not children should be taken out of school on term-time holidays there is one major group of individuals who hold the key.

The travel companies themselves are the main culprits in this problem as they deliberately hike up prices during school holidays to maximise their profits.

Parents are held to ransom over this and, while I definitely don’t think the answer is to take children on holiday and to hell with the consequences all round, I do believe that our Government and others should impose some sort of sanctions to curb their greed.
