ROUNDABOUT: The Spirit of Sport was named roundabout of the year by the UK Roundabout Appreciation Society
IT dominates Middlebrook and now it also dominates a national calendar – the Spirit of Sport is Roundabout of the Year!
The huge “trophy” on the traffic island by the Macron Stadium and Bolton Whites Hotel has made the cover of the 2018 calendar from the UK Roundabout Appreciation Society (UKRAS). Yes, really.
The splendid sculpture bears 700 images of local sporting heroes. This not only includes famous names like Jason Kenny but hundreds of other, much less well-documented, talented men and women.
While it is an unusual accolade, it’s nevertheless welcome – and provides yet one more reason to visit Bolton!
