THEY’VE re-written the acceptable parks’ behaviour rule book at Wandsworth Council and come up with some daft ideas.
The London borough plans to fine people, including children, for climbing trees, flying kites and playing cricket in open spaces, all backed up by civilian park police. They started last week with a three year-old boy and his father playing with a toy car.
Some people should not be given authority – it brings out the worst in them. Playing in the park is an intrinsic right for children. It’s what parks were designed for.
Banning outdoor play should be an offence itself.
