COMEDIAN Jim Davidson is undoubtedly a very sharp man with quick wits and lively repartee.

He’s been married five times and, appearing on Piers Morgan’s Life Stories on TV this week, blames his wives for his marriage failures. And that’s where the humour stops.

The comic, now 64, hasn’t acknowledged his alcoholism and admitted womanising as a possible cause for any marital distress. Instead, he revealed that his four divorces had cost him up to £60 million.

Anyone who has ever been through a divorce – or breakdown of a long-term relationship – knows that no-one but the two people involved uderstand the real story. Once that front door closes, that life is yours alone.

However, it does beg allegations of being unrealistic and in denial that he doesn’t seem to take much blame on himself for his marital failures. His life, thanks to his own biography and hours of media coverage, is pretty well-known to the public.

It’s very convenient to play the blame game, Jim, but it is a mistake.
