MPs come in for plenty of criticism these days but, irrespective of Party, there should only be admiration for James Brokenshire currently.

He is the Bexley MP who had a third of his right lung removed in February because of lung cancer, even though he’s never smoked.

He was forced to quit as Northern Ireland Secretary on his 50th birthday but now, just four months later, he’s back in the Cabinet.

He is plainly a brave man with a strong streak of determination alongside his desire for public service.

All good wishes for positive long-term good health go to him.
