I WOULD like to thank Cllr Jean Gillies for all her help in resolving the problem of trees being cut down in Ivanhoe Street.
Network Rail cut down nearly all the trees beside the track near our houses in February and we were devastated because there was no barrier between the track and our homes.
After initially not getting anywhere, we contacted Cllr Gillies, Cllr Guy Harkin and MP Yasmin Qureshi and Network Rail originally said it would replant the trees up to the gate.
But it also affected people in Woodedge Close and we are delighted Network Rail has now agreed to plant trees all the way along.
They are also replacing them with fast-growing trees so we shouldn’t have to wait too long for our border to return.
