THE funeral of George Mulhall was on May 25 in Huddersfield.
The chapel was packed with football faces from all over Britain joining family and friends paying final respects to an ex football great and Wanderers legend George Mulhall.
Would you believe out of the packed group of mourners there was just one player from the Wanderers and myself a former colleague.
No one was there from the present management at the Macron stadium. That player was Roy Greaves who was the captain of the 1978 champions, a truly memorable period in the club's history.
The team spirit that existed at that time was very special and, together with a mutual respect between management players and supporters, drove an unstoppable force.
So to witness a most dreadful club presence at the funeral was a big shock.
Yes I accept that many players and colleagues had other commitments which prevented their attendance at the funeral of one of our own.
However just one showing respect to a truly great football man I cannot and will not accept. Mr Anderson and his senior colleagues to my mind paid little or no interest in the passing of a Wanderers football great and he or his support team should admit their indifference rather than offering rather shallow excuses.
Yours in sport
