THE volunteers of the Community Kitchen deserve help from our local authority.
They do much needed and valued work supporting the homeless, elderly, and the most vulnerable people of Bolton.
In the words of organiser, the increase in rent, from £15 a week to £80, cannot be justified, and one wonders why the Salvation Army has hiked the price so much.
The Salvation Army has for many years helped homeless people, so it above anyone should recognise the value of the Community Kitchen.
Can the council not give help to the organisation, and give the correct planning permission, allowing it to use the Old Yorkshire Bank in Brashawgate as a kitchen so it can prepare cooked meals for the homeless, elderly, and vulnerable?
