I read in The Bolton News last week, that a woman who dropped an envelope outside her home in Frank Street on January 15 was fined £110 by magistrates.
She pleaded guilty and had to pay £210 with costs totalling £320.
Also in your paper on July 18, a man from Morris Green Lane admitted dumping rubbish on land at Horace Street, Halliwell.
He was fined £160 plus £280 costs, totalling £440.
We are constantly being told by Bolton Council that it is cracking down hard with huge fines on these offenders and quite rightly so. Yet where is the justice? An envelope at £320 or a fly-tipper for £440.
Just an added thought — obviously a vehicle was involved to deposit this rubbish in the Halliwell and Rumworth areas, yet the Salford Road recycling centre is closer to Morris Green than either of those places.
Where is the logic here and why is it acceptable to dump your rubbish on someone else's patch?
