AFTER years of the UK's systematic and radical liberalisation by both Labour and Conservatives, this is where I believe we are.

Open all hours, cheap booze, the supply of drugs operating on a massive commercial basis with only token curbs,

The irreparable damage to young and vulnerable minds is swept away and dismissed.

Then there is the dismantling and undermining by the state of the traditional family combined with the additional loss of basic discipline standards in homes and schools.

Add to this the disastrous removal of the police patrolling our streets and the result is more murders, gun and knife violence and acid attacks.

Punishment is now an alien concept.

Burglary is up with fewer than 10 per cent of these being detected, with the result that public perception of crime and punishment is at rock bottom.

How much further are we to be left to drift downhill?
