Chewing gum is worse than pigeons

WAS it necessary to cull the pigeons in Farnworth? They have been around since I was a child.
I thought that to deal with a situation like that with guns was heartless and cruel.
It is disgusting, and if that's legal, well God knows what a horrid future lies in store.
Look at the pavements covered in chewing gum in Bolton town centre, which is much more disgusting, and done by humans!
