AS a member of Save Bolton Libraries campaign, I was pleased to see so many people at the lobby of councillors on Wednesday evening.
The support shows how members of the public value community libraries.
Councils need to recognise that you cannot put a monetary value on some community services.
Gone are the days of dusty, dark buildings where people weren’t allowed to speak and children not really welcome.
Libraries today are vibrant and buzzing community services offering a range of activities at no or very little charge.
These cater from the youngest and oldest in society and offer social interaction for mums and people who live alone.
The Save Bolton Libraries campaign is calling on the council to hold a public meeting as part of the consultation, to get all the views of Bolton people.
Finally to all those councillors who said they are against closing libraries, let’s see if you attend.
