900 million good reasons why I am voting for action

UNISON is currently balloting 1.1 million members across public services to defend pensions. I will be voting YES to support industrial action starting with a one day strike on November 3 and urge other trade union members to do the same.
This government is planning to subsidise the deficit with £900 million out of our pockets.
The proposals are completely unfair and are nothing more than a special tax for Local Government workers to pay for the deficit caused by the bankers’ greed. If the proposals go ahead, as many as 50 per cent of workers may opt out of the scheme making it less profitable or sustainable. Our pensions currently invest billions here in the UK.
Cutting that investment in any way it would have a detrimental affect on jobs and the British economy.
The right to defend pension should be supported by everyone. The government plans must be defeated.
