Civil servants asked to finance greed

IS it just me or is there something reassuring about David Cameron saying a member of his cabinet has his full support. Phew, sigh of relief, only a matter of time before Theresa May is gone.

I just hope that before she goes she tells us how many kilos of drugs entered the country as a result of her ordering that private jets don’t have to be searched by Customs. Or how many terrorists came in. Or how many kilos of explosives they brought.

Or how much revenue was lost to the importing of stuff that’s allowed so long as the tax is paid.

Ooops, silly me, she can’t tell us any of that because she doesn’t know.

Nor does anyone else.

Who is paying the price for this? Is it the people who profited? Is it the drug dealers or terrorists or tax evaders? Of course not.

It’s Brodie Clarke, a dedicated public servant hung out to dry by a morally corrupt government. A man whose dedication and loyalty has been vouched for by everyone who ever met or worked with him.

Everyone except Theresa May.

There is almost a mirror image here. Reckless practices by bankers, stockbrokers and company directors have brought the world economy to its knees. The difference is that a half decent forensic accountant could tell us exactly who has profited.

And that they continue to profit obscenely. Yet all over the world hard working and dedicated public servants are being asked to finance this greed and corruption that they have not been a part of and have not gained from.

And all over the world private sector workers are being encouraged to support this attack on the services they rely upon.

All anybody wants is to receive pay, conditions and a pension that is commensurate to the work done. I would urge all workers, public sector and private, to stand up and be counted. Don’t let the fat cats divide us.
