Bus services – little hope

I READ the comment from Richard Soper of First Bus (The Bolton News, Tuesday), regarding the investigation by the traffic commissioner, on how his company were going to deal with the problem of lack of punctuality of their services by stating they were considering putting extra buses on.
Oh, how nice of First Bus to think of their passengers for once.
However, I think the second comment from Mr Soper of cutting services from 15 minutes to 20 minutes is more likely to happen, given how First operate.
On the 540 route through Westhoughton, there was once a bus every 10 minutes from Bolton to Wigan. Now it is every 15 minutes and they still cannot run on time.
So Mr Roper’s idea of cutting the number of buses to try and run to time is really another way of cutting costs and never mind the bus passengers.
