IN response to Stephen Crow’s letter.
As a 59-year-old grandma who is a lifelong trade unionist and socialist, I feel it is a pity that Mr Crow has taken exception to some of my comments about Margaret Thatcher.
Like him I remember the 1970s and have strong personal views, though from a different perspective.
We will have to agree to differ.
I believe that we cannot look back at history through rose tinted glasses.
During the 1980s manufacturing was destroyed and we had mass unemployment on a scale not seen since the 1930s.
We now have another government that wants to carry on where Margaret Thatcher left off.
I believe we need to stand together and defend jobs, services and our welfare state.
