IT’S easy to take pot-shots at TV reality programme The Real Housewives of Cheshire as, like any group of females, the women are a mixed bunch with some nice and some not so nice.

However, what is impressive, away from the “vampire facials” and over-use of Botox, is their attitude towards their children. To a woman, they’re loving, protective mums who just want the best for their kids.

Overall, though, the pampered, perfect lives do jar in this recessionary age. I’d much rather watch a programme entitled The Real Housewives of Westhoughton. That’s basically more like real life.
