IT may all sound very cosy and reassuring that Prince Charles praises the “brilliant” way his wife has taken on the challenges of royal life, but I’m a bit more cynical.

I am sure, as the Prince states ahead of their 10th wedding anniversary, that the Duchess of Cornwall’s “charm and charisma” are very real and very welcome.

However, taking a more objective view, this looks to me like just another attempt to boost the heir to the throne’s popularity and populist image. Sorry, sir, but, however nice, I’m still not convinced that you’re the right man for the job.
