IT’S not good news to hear that paramedics in Bolton are leaving the profession because they are stressed out.

A whistleblower says morale at the North West Ambulance Service is so low that six people have already left in Bolton in the last six months. Government funding cuts and annual increases in 999 calls are said to be to blame.

Paramedics already do a very stressful job so it’s worrying to think there might be an even worse problem occurring here. This vital front-line force – like the police and fire services - will always need nurturing, not stretching beyond endurance.
