HUNDREDS of adults and children have flocked to the festive lights’ switch-on events around Bolton in the last week or two, kickstarting the season.
However, none of these happens independently and such events are only possible thanks to the dedication of hard-working individuals. It’s easy to forget just what communities do for local residents but when you see successful events like Sunday’s well-supported Astley Bridge lights’ event at Andrew Park it’s important to acknowledge the many volunteers it took to make it happen. The Friends of Astley Bridge and Team Eagley Bank especially have worked tirelessly and deserve real thanks.
