IT’S a fitting tribute to the life of a Bolton councillor who died last year that her sister wants to continue her work and stand in her place.
Sufrana Bashir Ismail was a hardworking councillor in Crompton Ward who lost her battle against cancer at the tragically early age of 47.
Now, her sister, Bilkis – a 42 year-old barrister who moved back to Bolton to help look after Sufrana during her illness – will stand in Crompton Ward.
Politics apart, there are many local individuals who remember Sufrana warmly and who will welcome this opportunity
