I LIKE the idea put forward by a West End playhouse of shaming people who use their mobile phones during performances by shining a laser on their faces.
Using phones at inappropriate times like this is not only rude and unnecessary but spoils others people’s enjoyment of the theatre. It should perhaps also be extended to cinemas where idiots insist on either having loud phone calls or distracting others by the phone’s light when everyone is simply trying to concentrate on the film. Better still, just boot them out of the theatre or cinema and give us all a break.
