LEADING MAN: Paul Nicholls
IT’S good to see Bolton actor Paul Nichols taking the lead role later this year in a stage production of The Shawshank Redemption.
Paul, now 37, first came to attention as Joe Wicks in EastEnders and has enjoyed a successful TV career. He’s been in Grantchester and Death in Paradise among popular programmes and was particularly impressive as Sheridan Smith’s husband in The C Word.
It’s easy to dismiss actors if you don’t see them on TV constantly but Paul’s also had a long stage career and I bet he’s terrific as imprisoned banker Andy Dufresne in this iconic show.
