I HAD to go into the Royal Bolton Hospital’s Daycare Unit last week for an operation on my foot.

I’ve been in as a patient before and always had a positive experience but I was struck throughout by the time and trouble the group of professionals involved in this very busy unit employed.

Anyone who has been admitted to RBH will have a very personal experience of its services. Sometimes, problems do happen; often under-staffing and under-resourcing are to blame.

But, when news headlines are usually about dramatic or negative events, it’s wonderful to find such a high level of individual care on offer from a local health service that deals with thousands of people each week.

My welfare and feelings were considered throughout with staff kind and considerate in every way, determined that my surgery and after-care would be the best. So, thank you – you really are quite amazing.
