APPARENTLY, we Brits will only queue for just under six minutes at the most before giving up in exasperation.
Scientists from University College London discovered that the number six is very influential in queuing. We are unlikely to join a queue with more than six people in it and like to have a six-inch radius of personal space.
To keep queues calm, staff must be visibly busy and working to reduce queue length, with upbeat music playing.
I don’t mind queuing slightly longer actually but what really annoys me is staff engaging in chatty conversations with customers. How about you?
