ALL those whingeing about police operations that target motorists like the one in Trinity Street last week should eat their words.
The crackdown on driving offences resulted in 18 people without seat belts, 11 using mobile phones and 11 without vehicle insurance. Four registration plates had been altered, one vehicle was overweight and six others had illegally tinted windows.
Additionally, three taxi drivers had their licences suspended and two people were arrested for theft.
All in all, not a bad day’s work for our police force trying to keep criminals off the road and make life safe for the law-abiding.
