KARREN Brady is a cool business head whom we have got used to seeing in TV’s The Apprentice as one of Sir Alan Sugar’s two valued advisors.

What may not be so obvious is that she is also, among other things, a very successful businesswoman and she is currently mentoring fledgeling businesses in a new Monday night series called Give It A Year.

Here, she offers her expertise to new companies, like the former Royal Marine who is overcoming PTSD and starting a woodland adventure business and two sisters marketing their edible chocolate art.

Karren, now Baroness Brady, is the former managing director of Birmingham FC and vice-chairman of West Ham United FC. And it’s worth bearing in mind that two very shrewd, famous investors David Sullivan and David Gold put her there to ensure the clubs’ business success.

Karren is not only very straightforward but also very sensible about business. If she points out a fault, it’s definitely worth addressing and this new series is definitely worth a look.
