TO criticise new Who Wants to Be A Millionaire? host Jeremy Clarkson for being “rude” and “snide” is like moaning sun is hot.
We always knew what we were going to get with the former Top Gear star when he was chosen for the return of this popular quiz show. Clarkson is definitely a Marmite person you either love or hate but, even though there are many of us who think that replacing Chris Tarrant with Clarkson was unnecessary, it’s easy to see why ITV did it.
Jeremy Clarkson is not only rude, snide and often arrogant but regularly very funny. He has become a parody of himself. Even the show’s trailer adverts before last weekend showed him sending himself up beautifully.
There’s also no denying he’s very bright and sharp. True, his spiky wit can be unfair to contestants. But, I bet the re-booted show gets good viewing figures and that Clarkson will finally have found a suitable vehicle in which to return to the top of telly.
