WELL done, Network Rail, for finally doing something that Farnworth residents can really appreciate.
After a rough time there over the last year or so with massive road disruption and other problems around the Moses Gate area and the work Network Rail had to carry out there, they’ve decided to replace trees close to the rail track.
These were all ripped out in February during work but the rail company has now committed to planting three new species – rowan elder, wild pear and field
maple.
Local residents not only deserve having this bit of Nature returned to them here but show that most people everywhere feel better with trees and grass around them.
We need this greenery, wherever we live.
Somehow it makes us feel better about our area and about our lives and, when it’s taken away, what’s left is often a depressing sight.
No-one does beauty like Nature.
