AHEAD of a sale of the late BAFTA-winning actor Alan Rickman’s personal archives, it’s sad to learn that he had doubts over his role as teacher Severus Snape.
The complex character from the Harry Potter films actually added to Rickman’s reputation but he wasn’t sure.
His writings show that he was frustrated with the character’s development.
It’s amazing that someone so talented and successful should worry about this role as many think it one of his best.
For me, you can’t top his performance as the Sheriff of Nottingham in Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves. He was just absolutely fantastic!
