Dermot O'Leary, who has left his presenting role on The X Factor, saying it is "time for me to move on"
OPINIONS about The X Factor seem to vary with each new series but one dependable “performer” has always been host Dermot O’Leary.
For the past eight years, the genial presenter has welcomed new contestants, tamped down egos and consoled losers. Now, it’s been announced that he’s not returning for the next series but Dermot himself is proving pragmatic. He’s thanked Simon Cowell and all concerned and wished his successor well.
That approach is not only very sensible, but probably also one reason why talented Dermot is likely to re-surface onscreen very soon. Could he be about to host Top Gear?
