THERE is a great danger lurking in children’s “toys” these days which demands all parents’ vigilance. The latest “smart” hi-tech toys using Bluetooth and other internet connections – including “smart” watches using GPS - can be prey to hackers, and that means strangers and possible paedophiles.
The Information Commissioner’s Office is advising parents to turn off Bluetooth and set strong passwords on electronic toys.
It’s simply a sad fact of Christmas that, among all the festivities and goodwill, this is necessary. But, today, loving parents have a duty to protect their children as well as pleasing them with enjoyable gifts.
